04/19 United Way of Aroostook County Provides Critical Support to the County Dialysis Center

The County Dialysis Center, the only center to offer life-sustaining treatments to County patients with kidney disease, received a $2,000 check recently from the United Way of Aroostook County.  The gift will help patients from every corner of Aroostook County with transportation costs.

In 2004, Jason Charette began having serious headaches and was frequently sick to his stomach. After a CT scan, doctors discovered a significant sized tumor on his brain and he was diagnosed with Astrocytomas brain cancer. It was not curable.
