08/24 Stars coming to The County to help raise funds for regional critical care transport service

Two television stars are lending their names and making their way to Aroostook County to help raise funds for a region-wide service that cares for, and transports, critically ill patients in need of trauma and specialized care in emergency situations to advanced medical care centers.

08/04 TAMC’s Aroostook Health Center and Mars Hill Health Center join in Mars Hill Homecoming

Residents and staff at TAMC’s Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill are inviting family members, friends and community members to join them this Thursday, August 6, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. for an ice cream social and old fashion hoedown.  The free community event is the kick-off for the annual Mars Hill Homecoming Celebration, which continues through the weekend.

07/28 Community Garden launched and Memorial Garden plans unveiled in Fort Fairfield

More than 100 area residents gathered in Fort Fairfield on July 17 to celebrate the first planting of a community garden and to get a first look at plans for a memorial garden that will honor those who provided healthcare in the region, and the area residents who benefitted from those services.

07/24 Toymakers make a positive difference for pediatric patients at TAMC’s Emergency Department

An unknown delivery man quietly comes into the Emergency Department at TAMC and hands over to the registration specialist a box of hardwood toys, about fifty handcrafted pieces of approximately 20 unique wooden shapes, all with tiny wheels and a burned ToyMakers logo on the bottom.  As quickly as he comes, he turns and is off on another mission to take more boxes of toy cars and trucks to other hospitals, rehab clinics, terminal care facilities, and homeless shelters all over Maine.

07/21 TAMC’s Chief Nursing Officer earns OMNE Leadership Achievement Award

Another TAMC team member has received recognition as a leader in his field from the OMNE-Nursing Leaders of Maine. Roland Joy, MSN, BSBA, RN, and vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer, earned the 2015 Leadership Achievement Award from the organization.
