First patients to have tests done on new PET/CT scanner at TAMC
TAMC officials announced the exciting news last December that the Presque Isle medical center was taking the next step in cancer care for northern Maine by committing $1.5 million to bring PET scan technology to the region. Today, that long-awaited step became a reality when the first patients in Aroostook County received a PET/CT scan locally.

TAMC has moved its Outpatient Specialty Clinics office back to the campus of A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital on Academy Street.
Mizpah, a place for cancer survivors to find peace, adds a presentation series
For those suffering from cancer, it can be an extraordinarily isolating experience. There is a place where survivors, their friends and families, or anyone suffering from grief, can come to reflect, meditate, and be at peace with nature. That place is called “Mizpah,” and this year the sanctuary is adding a series of presentations involving local medical professionals from area hospitals, including TAMC.
2016 Hospitals Against Hunger food drive a success; Over a ton of food added to County pantries
A region-wide effort in May by The County’s four hospitals to replenish area food pantries has resulted in just over 3,000 pounds of food to help “Feed The County.” Donations of non-perishable food items and cash contributions, collected through the Hospitals Against Hunger food drive, were recently presented to officials with Catholic Charities Maine in Caribou.

In August of 2006, Danielle Brewer of Easton had recently given birth to her second child and was at her four-month post-natal visit with her provider Mary Hamilton, Certified Nurse Midwife at TAMC’s Women’s Health Center. Hamilton noticed a lump in Danielle’s neck and began asking some important questions.
Dwyer Named Interim President
EMHS president and CEO M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, has named Glenda Dwyer, FACHE interim president of TAMC. Dwyer will fill the vacancy left by Sylvia Getman, TAMC’s president and EMHS senior vice president, who is departing from the organization on June 3.
“Got Guts? 5K” to help raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis research
In the United States, one in two hundred people are diagnosed with some form of inflammatory bowel disease; that’s a staggering statistic. One TAMC employee, with help from a nursing student, has organized a 5K run/walk to raise money for Crohn’s and Colitis research.
