Colors of Courage

Registration is now open for the Colors of Courage 5K Run/Walk 2017, which takes place on Saturday, September 30th beginning and ending on the campus of A.R.Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle (TAMC).

Colors of Courage is open to runners and walkers who want to support those impacted by cancer in The County. In addition to community members supporting the cause, some will be running in honor or memory of a loved one who is currently, or has formerly battled cancer.

Special colored flags with the Colors of Courage event logo have been made and will be carried on the route by those whose lives are and were touched by the cancer represented by that color.

In addition to the 5K run/walk, the event will also feature a kid’s fun run, which s open to all kids 12 and under.

Proceeds raised will support the patient assistance fund at TAMC’s Aroostook Cancer Care for individuals and families dealing with cancer.  These include a fund to provide financial assistance to offset the related costs of transportation for appointments and treatments, as well other expenses for individuals who are presented with financial hardship as they fight the disease.

Special awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. All of those participating will receive commerative bibs and medals.
