09/17 TAMC flu shot clinics announced for fall 2018

The Aroostook Medical Center (TAMC) officials are planning six upcoming free seasonal flu shot clinics in the region.  The schedule includes three traditional walk-in clinics, including a family one for kids and adults, and three of its popular drive-up clinics.  Those 65 and older will be able to get a free high dose flu shot.

09/06 Colors of Courage to take place September 29

Community members will once again have the opportunity to support their family members, friends and neighbors in their fight against cancer during the annual Colors of Courage on Saturday, September 29, in Presque Isle.  The event begins and ends on TAMC’s A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital campus on Academy Street.

08/15 Big Run a big hit

More than 40 runners from Maine and New Brunswick enjoyed the sweeping views around Bigrock Mountain during a half marathon event held Sunday morning, August 12, by The Aroostook Medical Center and Bigrock Mountain Ski Area.  The tremendous positive feedback from the runners on both the course and the event has already led organizers to plan for this to become an annual event.

08/03 TAMC to offer paid training for CNA program

Based on the success of a pilot program offered earlier this year, The Aroostook Medical Center is again partnering with SAD #42 Adult Education to offer an accelerated training program for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).  The hospital will pay participants an hourly wage for time spent in class and on clinical rotations.  An informational session regarding the program will be held on Tuesday, August 7, at 5:00 p.m. in TAMC’s conference center.

06/26 TAMC employees recognized for years of service

TAMC recently honored its employees who have reached milestones in their tenure with the healthcare facility. A celebration took place in the Campus Center at the University of Maine at Presque Isle where TAMC recognized 170 employees at its 2018 Employee Service Awards ceremony.
