Acute Inpatient Rehab

Staff at TAMC's Acute Rehab Unit is here to meet the needs of anyone who has had a disabling injury or illness. Our program offers a personalized, integrated plan of care led by you and your family, and managed by our team of physicians, nurses, therapists and other rehabilitation professionals.

Acute Rehab Team

The primary goal of our acute inpatient rehab team is to help you and your loved ones resume an active lifestyle. Everyone recovers differently depending on their willingness to take an active role in their own therapy program. Our acute inpatient rehab team will assist you in the following ways:
  • Understand your disability and how to prevent medical complications
  • Acquire new, adaptive self-care skills
  • Work with adaptive equipment to make independence more easily attainable
  • Learn new coping skills
  • Develop the self-confidence necessary to achieve personal goals and maintain a positive "can do" attitude.
Our team approach and partnership with patients and their families ensures one-on-one attention - enabling patients to maximize recovery and reach their highest level of functioning.

  • Spinal cord injury
  • Congenital deformity
  • Amputation
  • Multiple injuries from an accident
  • Hip fracture
  • Burns Hip or knee joint replacement

Physical Rehabilitation

Physical rehabilitation is a branch of medical care that focuses on restoring function to those with limitations due to injury or illness. This healing process includes support from family, friends, and a team of skilled professionals.
Physiatrists are physicians who specialize in rehabilitation. They are experts in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of physical disabilities. Working with your specialized therapy team, our physiatrists strive to maximize each patient's physical function, quality of life, and independence.


Most insurance companies pay for some or all acute inpatient rehab services. The Aroostook Medical Center will check with your insurance company to verify your coverage.

Michaela St. Onge, MS, OTR/L

Michaela is a 2010 Husson University graduate who started her OT career here soon after graduation. Michaela provides quality Occupational Therapy services to both our inpatients and outpatients.  Michaela’s true passion is treating individuals in our Neuro Rehab setting. Michaela is energetic, creative, dependable and driven to provide her patients with the best possible outcome.  Michaela is engaged to be married within the next year.

Kassie Lovely Clark, MS, OTR/L

Kassie Lovely Clark is a county native who graduated from Husson University in 2012. Kassie primarily works with the pediatric population, providing Occupational Therapy services to local schools and in our outpatient pediatric clinic. Kassie is creative, kind, dependable and in her element when treating her little ones.  Kassie does a wonderful job representing our department and TAMC in the community. Kassie and her husband Tyler just welcomed a son, Briggs Barry Clark!

Amanda Beaulieu, MS, OTR/L

Amanda graduated from Husson University in 2013. After graduation, she returned to her hometown to practice Occupational Therapy.  Amanda has an interest in Low Vision therapy however does spend most of her workday treating children with developmental delays.  She is flexible, full of energy, motivated to help others and a pleasure to work with.  Amanda is married to her husband, Chris and they have a daughter, Nora. 

Marcy Lamoreau, OTR/L

Marcy graduated from University of New England in 1998.  She has been a valued TAMC employee for 18 years. Marcy works in our skilled unit, providing holistic, meaningful care to each and every one of her patients. Marcy is certified in ergonomics and completes ergonomic assessments organizational wide. Marcy meets everyone with a warm smile.  She is upbeat, enjoys making a difference in people’s lives and takes pride in the great work she does.  Marcy has many nieces and nephews that are the apple of her eye.

Haley Power, MS, OTR/L

Haley graduated from Tufts University in 2010. Haley has been a valued employee of The Aroostook Medical Center since that time. Haley’s passion is treating school aged children.  She works in the local school system treating children in Pre-K through 2nd grade.  Haley is patient, kind and detail oriented. Her calm and easy going personality is welcomed by all. Haley and her husband, Brian have 3 beautiful children, Addilyn , Eamon , and Clara.

Kaitlin Perkins, MS, OTR/L

Kaitlin graduated from Husson University in 2014. Fortunately, Kaitlin joined our TAMC Occupational Therapy department in 2014. She spends most of her time providing Occupational Therapy services to children between 3rd -12th grade.   If Kaitlin is not in the school, she can be found assisting on our SNF unit, on acute rehab or in our outpatient pediatric clinic.  Kaitlin is kind, flexible, hardworking and a joy to work with.  Kaitlin and her husband Kurt live in Mapleton and have two dogs,  Marlee and Milton.

Bradley Ala, PT, DPT, ITPT

Brad has been a TAMC employee since 2008 in the capacity of PT Aide. In 2012, he graduated from Husson University and immediately following graduation, Brad joined our TAMC PT department.   He is enthusiastic about providing quality treatment to those with Vestibular Dysfunction.   Brad has special interest in concussion management with ImPACT training, which is a great compliment to his vestibular background.  Brad has completed the 1st out of 3 Dry Needling courses and has a strong background in manual therapy. Brad is currently working on certification for orthopedic manual therapy. Brad and his wife, Charlotte live in Presque Isle with their two children, Zoey and Jacob.

Matt Hopkins, MS, PT

Matt graduated from Husson University in 2006.  Matt has been a TAMC employee since July 2016.  He brings with him, many years of rehab experience. Matt is dynamic, a solid problem solver, a strong team player and extremely flexible.  Matt’s “can do” attitude is not only appreciated by his co-workers but by his patients as well. Matt is the primary PT for our wheelchair clinic and has interest in expanding his knowledge in Vestibular rehab for the inpatient population. Matt and his wife, Chelsea, live in Easton with their four children, Olivia, Abigail, Maggie and Nicholas.  

Rachel Emery, PT, DPT

Rachel graduated from Husson University in 2013 and joined our PT department soon after.  Rachel enjoys treating the inpatient population.  Her interests specifically include cardiopulmonary and acute rehab.  When Rachel is not on the floors treating, she can be found in our outpatient pediatric clinic.  Rachel is flexible, always willing to help others and is such a pleasure to work with. Rachel and her husband, Patrick live in Fort Fairfield with their son, Cyrus.

Dana Boardman, PTA

Dana graduated for the University of Presque Isle in 2015. We were fortunate enough to recruit Dana into our PT department within months of his graduation.  Dana has a huge heart and genuinely cares about the well-being of each and every one of his patients. Dana is motivated to learn and takes every opportunity he can to develop his skills.  He is a strong team player, who is always considerate of others and appreciated by all.   Dana spends the majority of his days treating in our outpatient clinic.  His patients always receive high quality, comprehensive treatment. Dana and his wife, Tania have two girls, Meghan and Olivia.

Whitney Flint, PTA

Whitney graduated from the University of Presque Isle in 2014. Whitney has been a highly regarded addition to our PT department since 2014.  Whitney is the primary PTA on the inpatient floors and when she is treating, she is in her element, especially if she is on  Acute Rehab. Whitney is creative, dynamic and able to push her patients just a little further than they thought possible.  Whitney makes a difference because she is confident in her abilities and wants the best possible outcome for her patients. One can also find Whitney treating little ones in our pediatric clinic.  Whitney’s treatments are fun, full of energy and goal directed.  Whitney is engaged to be married to her fiancé, Amos in 2018.

Chris Jackson, PTA, ATC

Chris graduated from the University of Presque Isle and joined our TAMC team in 2013.  Chris enjoys treating the outpatient population. Chris splits his time between ARG and AHC.  Chris is always flexible, dependable and appreciates a busy schedule.  He prefers a manual approach and experienced in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Prior to joining our team, Chris spent many years as an Athletic Trainer for multiple schools around the state of Maine. Chris and his wife, Amy live in Presque Isle with their five children.
