Aroostook Health Center
TAMC's Aroostook Health Center, located in Mars Hill, provides long-term care and rehabilitation services to 72 residents. We take a holistic approach to providing care. This includes creating a plan of care that fits the unique needs of every resident, including the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of health.
Our rehabilitation program allows residents to relearn activities of daily living, recover sooner, and regain the ability to care for themselves upon returning home. Our rehabilitation services help to bridge the gap between hospital and home.
We also care for residents who can no longer perform everyday tasks, such as eating, bathing, or getting dressed. We understand that losing independence due to illness or injury can be a very difficult adjustment. We work very hard to help ease the transition for our residents and their families through a supportive, team approach.
We go to great lengths to make Aroostook Health Center feel like home to our residents. Through our Resident Activities Program, residents can enjoy many of the experiences that may have been part of their lives before their illness or injury, including a variety of social gatherings, off-site excursions, and educational programs.
Aroostook Health Center opened in 1962 and served as a full-service hospital until the early 1980s. The organization joined A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital to form The Aroostook Medical Center in 1981.
