AR Gould Memorial Hospital

A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital is the largest hospital in Northern Maine. A comfortable, modern 89-bed facility, the hospital offers 24-hour emergency services, complete cancer care services, a day surgery center, the region's most comprehensive imaging center, and several specialty services. The hospital contains medical/surgical, critical care, inpatient rehab, and women & children's units. 

Other services offered at the hospital include cardiovascular (including a cardiovascular lab), surgical services, orthopedics, outpatient therapy, laboratory, eye care, urology, women's health, and more.

The hospital is named after Senator Arthur R. Gould (1857-1946), a pioneer in the electricity and rail industries in Presque Isle and the surrounding area. A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital opened in 1960 and underwent significant renovations in the 1970s, mid-1980s, and early 2000s.
